About Mango Plant: Mango is one of the giant import and export fruits globally. Mango fruits are the king of fruits in India, and Mango comes in lots of varieties like safeda, langada, dashehri, Badami, chaunsa, Alphonso…etc. Cultivators are also different from plantations.

The scientific name of Mango is Mangifera indica and comes with the Anacardiaceae family, and the Anacardiaceae family has lots of species. The leaves on the plant are initially walnut or pecan coloured, and over time, leaves turn into dark green with a tripartite shape. These leaves grow up to 4 to 6 inches and spread up to 1 inch. Over time, the height of the mango plants grows up to 45 feet and spreads up to 20 to 25 feet or more.

How To Plant at Home: There are many methods to plant mango pip (seeds), but we will know about the common methods in this post. It’s simple with minimum caring. As we know, Mango has many varieties; that’s why we will know the common plantation method.

How To Prepare Best Soil Potting & Plantation

First of all, take mango pip (seeds). Most peoples sow mango pip into garden soil, but the result is not to become good. Take well-drained garden soil (50%), vermicompost, or cow dung (50%) for making the best soil mixture. Mix it well and take out a large flower pot (size at least 12 to 15 inches).

Fill the soil mixture into a flower pot (80%). Dig holes 4 to 5 inches, put the mango pip into those holes, and cover the pip with soil mixture. After all, pour water into the flower pot and keep the plants in semi-shaded locations.

Before germination, keeps the plants in a semi-shaded area or indoor location. Within 5 to 7 days, germination starts from the pip (seeds), and leaves and branches appear from the plants. As shown in the photo.

Remember: While soil mixing, remove all the small pebbles and stone and make soil mixture granular type or loamy type. For best growth always use clay or ceramic flower pot and make sure drainage holes are available or not. If there are no drainage holes then make 5 to 8 holes (drainage holes are necessary for each flower pot).

Transplantation:  There is no need to transplant plants if you sow its mango pip in-ground garden with an area of 1 to 2 meters. Transplants are needed when you have sown the mango pip/seeds in a flower pot. If you want to do transplantation, then use the same soil mixture.

Best 4 Caring Tips :

Watering: Give water properly in the summer season or don’t overwater. Before germination, keep moisture in the soil potting, and after germination, give water every day. For watering, use a water gun.

Temperature: Temperature is the main task for each plant; that’s why always maintain the temperature between 15°C to 30°C. During the summer season (March to July), keep plants in full sunlight or keep plants in full sunlight for at least 4 to 6 hours. If you sow mango pip in the winter season, then keep plants in full sunlight.

Best Fertilizer: for best results, always use the best Fertilizer. Cow dung and cocopeat are the best fertilizers for mango plants. Always remember, after fertilization, gives water properly.

Pests & Disease:  Many types of small insects ( bees, Japanese beetles, aphids, ants, sawflies, bugs, and wasps) attack these plants, So to kill those insects, always spray the medicine. Always read the instructions before spraying the medicine on plants.

Flowering Time: There are many varieties of mango plants. The time of flowering also depends on the verities. Some variety of flowers starts to bloom after 2 to 3 years and take 4 to 5 years more on some verities. When the flowers bloom, the fragrance of the flower smells, and many kinds of insects also attack the flowers.

Fruits Season:  After one month of flowering, the fruit starts on the tree, and these fruits are initially green in appearance and are very small. Some verities take lots of time.
