About Blue Water Lilies: Blue water lily is a beautiful flowering plant or aquatic shrub that blooms in the water, and this plant thrives in water for many years. Bluewater lily has many common names like Egyptian lotus, Blue lotus, Cape water lily, sacred blue lily, and Frog’s pulpit. In India, it is known as the holy blue lily of the Nile. The price of cape water lilies is 100 rupees in India (the size of the lily is at least 2 feet long).

The scientific name of the blue water lily is Nymphaea caerulea, and it comes with the Nymphaeaceae family.

Over time, lilies grow up to 2 to 3 feet long. The leaves are green with round heart-shaped. In one plant, it germinates 6 to 8 stems, and the stem size grows up to 2 to 3 feet. If leaves are in deep water, then their colour is brown and shady, and when leaves are top of the water, then leaves turn green.

How to Plant Seeds: There are two methods to plant blue water lilies, one is by using seeds, and another is by using its leaves. The seeds method takes lots of time to germinate roots, and the leaves method does not take lots of time. Seeds are tiny and black in colour (seeds are 1 mm long).

Prepare a Soil Potting: Seeds are easily grown in normal garden soil.

Take a small flowerpot (size at least 6 to 8 inches deep).
Fill soil into the flowerpot and take out the seeds.
Spray seeds on the soil.
Give water properly and take one more flowerpot (size should be large).
Fill water into the flowerpot and take out the small flowerpot (which is planted seeds).
Keep the small flowerpot into the large flowerpot.
Now fill the water into a large flowerpot (80% water).

Within 10 to 20 days, germination starts from the seeds, and tiny leaves appear from the seeds. If you sow 10 to 15 seeds in a single flowerpot, there is no need to transplant them. If lilies grow up to 10 to 12 inches with 5 to 6 leaves, you can transplant them. Use a large tray flowerpot (size at least 20 to 30 inches) for the best result.

Remember while seedling: USDA hardiness zone should be 4-10. In a small flowerpot, make sure drainage holes are available or not. If there are no holes at the surface, then make 5 to 9 holes (Drainage holes are necessary). Cover the holes with a grenade or stones. Use a ceramic flowerpot. The distance between the seeds should be 1 to 2 inches.

Best Caring Tips :

Watering: Change the water regularly and always check the top layer of the leaves (the leaves are on the water). If the water does not change, the lily leaves fade and break. So always change the water after 10 to 15 days.
Temperature: Do not place the water pot in full sunlight. Always place the pot in the shaded area for the indoor location. Bluewater lilies need indirect sunlight.
Best Compost: If the growth of the lily has stopped, then the lily needs fertilizer so that we can give NPK 23-10-10 fertilizers. Before fertilizer, change the water properly.

Blooming Time: If you have sown blue lily seeds, then after 5 to 6 months, the marigold flowers start blooming, and these flowers turn blue. The centre of the flowers is yellow, and each flower has many petals. Over time, the flowers grow up to 2 to 3 inches. These flowers are similar to lotus flowers.
