About Grape Vine: Grapes are one of the best berry fruits in the family of Grapevines. Grapes have lots of benefits like (100gm of fruits), which contains 70 calories, saturated fat (0.1gm), sodium (2mg), sugar (15gm), potassium (190mg), and proteins (0.7gm). Vitamins like A, D, and calcium.

This post is about Sauvignon blanc verity (which is green in colour) and this verity is native to France.

Perfect Way for Plantation: There are two methods to plant grapes vine, one is by using seeds, and the other is using cutting or graft. In this post, we will know using the cutting method. Take out the grapes cutting from the nursery. Keep the cutting in water for 10 to 15 days (until germination of roots) and place the cutting in an indoor location. After 10 to 15 days, roots and new leaves are germinated from the cutting, and the roots are white in colour.

Prepare a Soil Potting & Planting: For making a good quality the soil mixture, take out the garden soil (40%), coco peat (30%), and cow dung (30%). Mix it well and make the soil mixture well-drained. Take a large flowerpot (at least 12 inches or max) and fill the soil mixture into a flowerpot. The flowerpot should be empty 1 inch.

Remove the cuttings from the water. Dig a hole 5 to 6 inches and put the cuttings in those holes, and cover the roots with a soil mixture. Give water properly and place the flowerpot in the full sunlight.

Location: Garden on Top; say if the vines grow up to 7 to 9 feet, give some support and place the vine on the balcony or terrace.

Remember: Grapes are well growing in 3-10USDA hardiness zones. In a flowerpot, make sure drainage holes are available or not. If there are no holes at the surface, then make 5 to 9 holes (Drainage holes are necessary). Cover the holes with a grenade or stones. Use a clay flowerpot. The distance between the cutting should be 2 to 3 inches.

Transplantation Tips: There is no need to transplant vines if you planted 3 to 5 vines in a single flowerpot. For the best result, choose a ground site.

Best Tips For Caring :

Watering: Give water properly and don’t overwater (overwatering causes roots soggy and rot). During the summer season (March to July), give water every day. During the winter season, give water after 2 to 3 days or always maintain moisture in the soil.

Temperature: Best temperature gives the best result, and the grapes vine needs full sunlight. Keep the vines in full sunlight for at least 5 to 6 hours during the growing season. Recommended temperature is 15°C to 25°C. Save the vines from heavy temperatures.

Best Manure: For best growth, give decomposed cow dung after 20 to 25 days. Fertilizer is necessary before the growing season.

Pruning & Cutting: Before the growing season, prune the head of stems and faded flowers and leaves. Prune the vines using any gardening cutter.

Season of Flowering: The flowers start blooming on the vines after 2 to 3 months, and these flowers are green in colour with white wrinkles. One stems gives 7 to 10 flowers with lots of grapes.

Season of Fruits: After flowering, the fruit begins. Fruits are green in colour with round shapes and sizes that grow up to 1 inch with a spread of 1 to 3 cm long (it depends on verity).
